SKYTOP LODGE

Sean and his parents spent Labor Day weekend at the Skytop Lodge in the Pocono Mountains, in Pennsylvania. Only 90 minutes from home, the early 20th century stone inn made for a wonderful end of the summer get-away for the Franklin's. The activities included; golf (everyday), archery, swimming, hiking, mountain climbing, ping-pong, mini-golf, lawn bowling, and lots of good food. We mean LOTS. Here are a few snaps from the weekend.

MOUNTAIN CREEK

Sean and two of his friends, Brendan Borbone and Connor Koch, went to the Mountain Creek Waterpark in Sussex, for a day of thrills and chills (temps were in mid-70's, water felt like it was 60's), on the 2nd to last day of summer vacation.

Here's a quick video Sean's Dad put together.

Ramsey Blue 10u won the Paramus Summer travel league championship, defeating North Haledon in the championship game 4-1.

CAPE MAY

The semi-bi-annual Rzodkiewicz Family vacation took place this August in Cape May, NJ, to celebrate Grace & Gene's 50th anniversary. All the kids and grand kids were there, except the oldest grandchild Sarah, who had to work at summer camp back in Massachusetts.

RIPKEN TOURNAMENT

The Ramsey 9u select team went to Aberdeen, MD to play in a weekend baseball tourny at the incredible Ripken complex. The team did very well, losing in the semi-finals. Sean had a good series, including the game winning hit in the team's dramatic come-from-behind win in the opening game.

new YANKEE STADIUM

We went to the Yankees vs. Phillies game on Saturday with Sean's grandfather and Uncle Stephen. It was really hot, and the Phils beat the Bombers pretty bad. We got to teh stadium early so we could take a good last look at the old stadium, which is ready to be dis-Mantled.

SEAN TURNS TEN

Sean celebrated his 10th birthday by with a A Night at the Museum 2 and pizza with some friends.

Happy Birthday Sean!

HALL OF FAME

For Spring-break Sean and Pops made a road-trip up to Cooperstown and gave tribute to all the greats at the baseball Hall-of-Fame. Sadly, there is only one true Met in the Hall, yet plenty of Yanks. And thankfully, not too many Red-Sox.

THE WIGWAM

Mr. Watson gave Sean's 4th grade class a Wig-Wam project, which Sean was less than thrilled to do. (Creativity is not his thing) So good-ol'-Dad helped Sean out, using a little-known ancient Native-American construction tool called the Glue-gun. Wink-wink.
Pay particular attention to the details...

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2008

HO-HO-HO from Sean and family. Now go Elf Yourself!

WASHINGTON DC

We made a weekend jaunt down to the nation's capitol. Sean's dad had some business down there at the Newseum. But there was plenty of time for sight-seeing and walking around the monuments. Even met up with cousin Sarah, a freshman at American University.

And whew, it was really really hot and sticky.

Here's a slide show of pictures from the trip.

4TH GRADE

Sean started 4th grade today, moving onto the John Y. Dater Elementary School. His teacher is Mr. Watson. Hard to believe summer's over. Even harder to believe he's in 4th grade. Good luck this year Sean, have a great school year.

CAMPFIRE 2008!

The Ramsey dad's took the boys on a weekend camping trip to Lake George, for the 2nd annual Labor Day weekend Campfire. Sean had a blast hanging out with his buddies toasting marshmallows over the evening fire, swimming & boating in Lake George, and sleeping on the ground in a tent without having shower or change into PJ's. Here's a look at some photos from the weekend, posted on Snapfish.

MOUNTAIN CREEK

Sean and Dad went to Mountain Creek water park on Monday. It was so much fun. Water slides, crazy rides, cannonball shots, and death-defying jumps.

<<< This is Sean being shot out of the Cannonball!

See his highlight video from the day.

I am TIGER FRANKLIN

The Ramsey Junior Golf season ended today, and Sean finished up the year strong. Tonight was the annual dinner, and to Sean's surprise -and delight- he took home two runner-up trophies.

Sean came in 2nd place in the 6-hole club championship for 9-year olds. His friend Daniel Botta came in first. And Sean was the runner-up for the season average.

Here's a video from the dinner.

MONTAUK -The End

We spent our summer vacation on the tip of the south fork of Long Island Montauk, here are the pics. Lot's of beach, biking, lobster, and ice cream. We have not vacationed here in a few years, it was good to be back on eastern LI -the finest beaches anywhere.

MONTAUK 2001

We were there on Ditch Plains back in 2001.

Montauk 2000

We were there again in 2000.

MONTAUK 1999

We also vacationed there when Sean was a mere two months old, back in 1999.
